80年代White Lion 合唱團的When the children cry，這首歌曲當時以反戰訴求聞名，廣受反戰人士引用。

80年代的西洋樂壇誕生了許多由長髮披肩的搖滾客組成的流行搖滾樂團，1983年成軍於美國紐約布魯克林的白獅合唱團(White Lion)就是相當具代表性的一團，他們是由丹麥籍主唱Mike Tramp及名氣直逼Eddie Van Halen的著名吉他手Vito Bratta 加上鼓手Greg D'Angelo 與貝斯手James Lomenzo共同組成的超級搖滾勁旅。出自他們1987年的專輯「Pride」的單曲「When the Children Cry」，是一首呼籲世人重視兒童逃家問題的創作，歌曲剛剛推出時並未受到大太的注意，但主唱Mike Tramp用沙啞感性的口吻唱出對不幸孩童的真情流露，慢慢地引起了電台DJ們的青睞，在經過電台強力放送的一年後，終於登上全美流行榜的季軍，連帶地讓吉他手Vito Bratta精湛的演出受到樂壇矚目，讓他被許多專業的音樂雜誌評選為該年度的”最佳吉他手”， 「Pride」專輯銷售也突破了500萬張，讓白獅合唱團也從此在西洋樂壇留名。
